ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES AS SURVEYOR
Ø Flag State Inspector for Marshall Island and Antigua & Barbuda (A & B) registries for annual Safety Inspections.
Ø Representing TB Marine Shipmanagement GmbH & Co. KG Hamburg, Germany to conduct internal annual audits (ISM, ISPS, MLC Etc…) on their vessels calling KSA.
Ø Carried out H & M and Loss Prevention Condition surveys of General Cargo, Bulk Carrier, Cattle Carrier, Tanker and various other types of vessels.

During working as a marine surveyor & consultant dealt with both marine and non-marine claims. Worked on behalf of all major protection & indemnity clubs, local insurance companies, overseas insurance companies (hull and machinery), local and Middle East clients.
a) On bulk carrier, carried out pre load cargo hold inspection as per AQIS requirements prior loading of urea for Australia. Involved in draft surveying to establish the quantity of on board cargo, sampling and fumigation control survey of wheat cargos in bulks as well performed ultrasonic testing of hatch covers for water tight integrity.
b) Marine Warrant survey of the very heavy modules by sea & by road transport. Fully conversant their loading, discharging, lashing and securing arrangement for sea / road transportation and issuance of towage approval and road transportation certificate. Worked as warranty surveyor with European & far eastern underwriters such as ace Europe, ace Far East, and liberty underwriters Singapore for Samsung & Hyundai gas & oil separation plant, Axa Germany, federal insurance Singapore for Siemens & GE power plants. Discharge of locomotive & rail train transport system.
c) Carried out condition and pre-purchase surveys on vessels for the P & I clubs, insurance companies and clients wishing to purchase vessel in worldwide locations.
d) Fully conversant with type of chemical loaded in jubail as surveyor for last 5 years for the P & I clubs, owners / operators. Instrumental in reducing tankers inspection failures, investigation of petroleum products & petrochemical off spec. for our major clients and fully conversant with petroleum and chemical carrier operations, quality and quantities issues.
e) Dealt with technical issues concerning claims and have on many occasions liaised with the vessel’s owners directly, answering their queries, based on my advice they have repudiated forged claims.
f) Inspection of Saudi ports / berth damages, estimation of damages.
g) Port captaincy / superintendence on behalf of shipping lines based in USA, Europe, Middle East and Far East.
Sea experience
Fourteen years sailing experience worked on board Cape Size, Panamax & Handy size Bulk Carriers, Aframax tankers and General cargo ships. During sailing tenure had also dry docking experience of General Cargo vessel, Cape size/ Panamax size Bulk carriers and Aframax tanker. During sailing tenure I played a central and leading role in the logistical operations of shipping, such as arrivals/departures; time keeping; navigational operations, berthing/un-berthing cargo operations, Passage planning, Safety equipment inspection and maintenance ; and many other role’s which are required for shipping work. In addition I am able to work with people of varying cultures and ethnicity.
